Project description
Lommel is the main town of north Limburg, and is flourishing economically and attracting new inhabitants. Numerous building projects are underway and new developments are appearing. The town council provides support for this growth and attractiveness and itself opts for functional contemporary architecture in the construction of the modern 'Huis van de Stad' (town hall) and a unique glass centre.
Lommel's rapid growth more than ever requires clear-cut underpinning. The town council's desire is to set down an individual identity for the whole of its territory in a visual quality plan. What they want is not just a modern image of the town centre and its open spaces, but also a vision for the individual nature of its various districts.
The leading elements in this brief are the strategic project for the station area and the development of the urban base as stated in the spatial structure plan.
We are looking for an innovative and highly-motivated team that would like to help define the image of the town of Lommel for the future.
